Press ReleaseWolters Kluwer Financial Services Introduces Audit FS
Web-based Tool Simplifies Branch Compliance Audits
WALTHAM , Mass. – (Mar. 10, 2008) – Wolters Kluwer Financial Services today announced the release of Audit FS, an online work flow tool that provides broker-dealers’ compliance professionals with a consistent and comprehensive framework to complete the branch examination process. Securities regulations require that broker-dealers conduct branch office inspections every one to three years. These requirements are aimed at helping compliance managers identify areas in need of improvement and to develop corrective action plans to ensure their firms’ compliance with the rules. In many cases, branch audits are done manually using desktop applications or paper-based systems. These time-consuming methods make it difficult to maintain consistency among audits, retrieve information and remain up-to-date with the latest industry requirements. And as firms grow through mergers and acquisitions, branch audits can become even more complex. Audit FS simplifies the examination process by helping compliance personnel and examination staff maintain an efficient and consistent workflow. Audit FS offers a “dashboard” providing an overview of all open audits, audits requiring review and recently finalized audits. The solution also offers audit templates and checklists that are regularly updated by Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ securities compliance professionals to adjust for changes to specific rules and regulations. And with a central repository for examiners’ and supervisors’ notes and the Report of Examination, it is easy to find, retrieve and study branch files. “The Audit FS tools allow compliance officers to create a customized audit process that meets the needs of their firm,” said Peter Berkery, vice president and general manager of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ Securities Compliance Solutions group. “Audit FS is not only a time-saver, but more importantly, it helps firms reduce risk by establishing secure and repeatable exam processes.” “As regulators heighten requirements and firms continue to grow and change, there is a demand for more internal controls, which can be quite overwhelming for compliance departments, branch managers and others who manage the audit process,” said Mark Coronna, executive vice president of Securities and Insurance at Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. “Our goal is to provide relief by helping these individuals easily identify potential risks and simplify the entire branch audit process.” For more information about Audit FS, call 866-220-0297 or e-mail auditfsinfo@wolterskluwer.com.
